Enhanced Adult Guidance

Thurrock Learning Partnership saw the need to complement the information and advice available through IAG with high quality guidance on developing a new career and the skills needed to achieve it.

In 2004 Thurrock Learning Partnership was successful in gaining the funding to provide this additional flexible service to provide opportunities across Thurrock for personalised careers guidance interviews.

With this service Thurrock residents can have up to two free one-to-one sessions with a highly qualified and experienced Guidance Adviser.

These sessions are obviously confidential and will help people to decide what are the right next steps for them whether for going back into work or learning.
Careers interviews are available by appointment at a number of venues across Thurrock.

This significantly adds value to the mainstream Government funded IAG service and we are working in partnership with nextstep to maximise the additional benefits this service can bring to residents of Thurrock.

Thurrock is an area where transport links between the various communities are poor and where many people need additional support to build their confidence and encourage them into learning or helping them to develop further in their careers.

The Beneficiary Surveys we have conducted evidence how valuable the service is in achieving these objectives.
