Sub Groups and Associated Executive Forums and Groups
The Partnership has three thematic sub-groups:
- Economic Well-Being Steering Group
- ICT Strategy Group: Members are drawn from all partner organisations. Their key aims are to:
work collaboratively to ensure the widest possible provision
develop and distribute shared signposting/promotional material
utilise the broadband capacity within Thurrock for interactive learning, for example, supporting virtual classrooms,
share information and training
develop strategies and policies to meet ever changing needs
- Skills for Life Strategy Group: Members are drawn from all partner organisations. Their key aims are to:
work collaboratively to develop a continuing Thurrock wide strategy for the delivery of literacy and numeracy skills
widen the range of provision and participation
develop signposting and promotional activities
review and act on Government and Agency policy and briefing papers
share information and training to ensure best practice across Thurrock
Other sub-groups are formed as and when needed to address particular issues, for example:
- Higher Education Strategy Group working to increase participation in higher education and raise awareness of local opportunities to study at this level. TLP is keen to increase pathways for progression to higher education so there are no barriers to anyone.
The group have produced a wrap-round to the Thurrock Gazette.

Higher Education in Thurrock
- 19+ Strategy Group - which is currently developing a Thurrock wide Action Plan to address the Community's needs from re-engagement through to higher education including the skills for work paying attention to priority sectors and planned growth for Thurrock.
- 14-19 Strategy Group - in light of the Children's Act and Every Child Matters, this Strategic Group has merged, with other groups to form the Children and Young People's Partnership's 13-19 Executive

Thurrock Learning Partnership's Manager represents the Partnership on:
- The ACE (Active Citizen Entitlement) Partnership
- Thames Gateway South Essex Skills Forum
- Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation - FE/HE Group
- Thurrock Business Forum (TBF) Steering Group and chairs the TBF Workforce Development Group
- Thurrock Learning Partnership is an active member of the Eastern Region Learning Partnership Federation
