About Thurrock Learning Partnership
Thurrock Learning Partnership (TLP) is an exceptionally inclusive body of schools, colleges, private training providers, business, Connexions, Voluntary Sector, Thurrock Council, jobcentreplus and Thurrock Primary Care Trust. By working together, sharing knowledge, research and strategies, they aim to widen participation and raise achievement.
Some examples of collaborative projects which it is hoped will lead to further improvement in the long term are:
- Developing a shared Lifelong Learning Strategy for all who live and work in Thurrock
Adults
- A large scale community project to provide Internet connected computers in venues where people naturally congregate to help them develop/improve their I.T. skills and use the Internet. All the partners are committed to supporting the project
- Enhanced Adult Guidance Service
- All partners working together to develop strategies to address poor literacy and numeracy skills
- Shared publicity for signposting, celebrating success and raising aspirations
- More computers with free Internet access in the Libraries including two Learning Hubs especially designed to meet the needs of those with disabilities
- Partners working together to bring maximum funding into Thurrock to support their joint strategies
